About Me
I am a keen photographer. I am particularly interested in macro photography and wildlife. Having said that, this site is not exclusively about wildlife, as you will see when you visit my galleries. A few years ago I created a wildlife pond, which has proved very successful. Many of my images were taken in and around the pond. I am a member of the Bexleyheath Photographic Society and have obtained a DPAGB (Distinction) recognition from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain.

Other images have been taken around Kent, East and West Sussex, Surrey and surrounding areas.

All of the photos are available for purchase. All images on this website are the copyright of Sue North and may not be reproduced in any way shape or form without prior permission.

Please feel free to email me with any comments you may have on any of the photos on this site or the site itself.

This was lit similar to my snow drop with tow flashes. I have been using flash for some years now with two flashes on a bracket at a 45 degree attached to the camera, one with a sync lead and a slave on the other one. I am now using the Nikon macro flash unit that can use up to 8 flash heads. I found the Strobist web site and I have made some snoots with the advice on the site that have proved very useful. I used the snoots for the first time to make this image. I used two of the flash units, one with an orange gel and fitted with a white cardboard snoot, top right hand above and slightly behind the subject, and the second unit placed directly below it with small homemade diffuser from a small Tupperware bowl with a sheet of paper taped into a cone to direct the light. I was trying to imitate the effect of early morning backlit sun light
